prius_profile_d_redThink your cooler than the dude driving around the funny little Prius?  Well think again!  The Prius gets 50 MPG or so, your car is lucky to get 30.  The little hybrid has created an automotive revolution; you’ve created some bastard children.  The Prius benefits from the most current technology Toyota has to offer, you best move is the dutch oven.

The 2010 Toyota Prius is set to go on sale any minute now.  And this will be the first car that will eclipse the 50 MPG mark.  What started as an innocent commuter car has spawned a movement to decrease our dependency on oil, and start heading in the direction of oil independence.  The new Prius benefits from Toyota’s vast R & D Department.  The batteries are newer, the electric motor more powerful, and the recharging system more refined.  All this adds up to a hybrid vehicle that will be the first to top 50 MPG.

The Prius gets a bit more aerodynamic for 2010.  The drag coefficient is reduced to a mere 0.25; which makes it the most drag efficient car that has ever been mass produced. The Prius is sleeker than a Ferrari, Porsche, and Lamborghini.  The Prius also gets a bum in the engine department.  The motor is now a 1.8L engine rather than a 1.5L like in previous models.  When combined with the electric motor, the 2010 Prius will rock 134 hp;  up 24 over the last generation.

So next time you’re about to bad mouth a Prius owner, remember that they are much smarter than you and can kick some serious ass, MPG ass that is!
